About the Artwork:

Water is the New Gold captures a shift that is already happening — quietly, but inevitably.

For decades, wealth has been measured in money, gold, and material assets. But the definition of value is changing. What once felt abundant is becoming scarce. What we overlooked is becoming essential. In this work, Scrooge McDuck — the ultimate symbol of wealth — is confronted with a new reality.

Gold is no longer the only currency.

Water is.

The piece plays with contrast:
The familiar icon of excess meets a resource that cannot be manufactured, negotiated, or replaced.

Executed in bold acrylic layers, the artwork combines vibrant pop aesthetics with a more grounded, almost unsettling message. It questions our perception of wealth and challenges the viewer to reconsider what true value really is.

Because in the end, the most powerful assets are not always the ones we can count.

Artist Thoughts behind the artwork:

"For a long time, I’ve been painting about money, success, and the idea of wealth. But lately, I’ve been questioning that. What if we’ve been measuring value completely wrong?

Water is the New Gold came from that thought.

We chase numbers, we chase growth, we chase more.
But at the same time, the things that actually sustain life are becoming more fragile. Water is something we assume will always be there — until it’s not. In this piece, I wanted to place Scrooge in that tension.  Not as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone facing a shift.

Because real wealth is changing. And maybe it’s time we start paying attention to what actually matters."

My work lives at the intersection of bold pop culture and personal reflection. Through layered textures, iconic characters, and unexpected juxtapositions, I explore the contradictions of modern life — glamour and grit, success and satire, chaos and clarity. Much of my work reimagines familiar faces — from cartoon legends to luxury icons — not to glorify them, but to question them, twist them, and ultimately make them my own. Characters like Mr. Monopoly, Bugs Bunny, or Homer Simpson become vessels to talk about ambition, abundance, and the absurdity of our times. It’s all pop — but it’s also deeply personal.

At the heart of it, I believe in art as transformation. I believe in creativity not just as a medium, but as a way of life — to shift perspective, to provoke thought, and to connect.
